We cannot relax with idols and let our guards down; becoming casual and nonchalant with the gods of our culture. These can come in a variety of forms such as: ambition, success, power, gossip, romance, fame, knowledge, athletics, “the latest” and popularity. Be changed and different than the culture or it will seep into your soul. It always starts with subtle compromises. Do you have a passion for Jesus? Does He come first? Are you provoked that thousands are going to hell or are you unconcerned? Ask God to arouse and stir you. We think it is acceptable that we are disciples of the world, that we know all about the world while we know little about Jesus. We are undisciplined about being governed by Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to do an inner transformation so that you have boldness. Out of repentance comes boldness because out of a clear conscience comes confidence.
