"Squander" is to spend foolishly, to cause to disperse, to lose through negligence or inaction, according to the dictionary definition. Then it struck me….not unlike the story in the Bible and how very much like the son who leaves his Father I can be. I take God's free gifts, my inheritance in Christ, wander off, only to throw Life away.
Choosing selfish living, I squander my Father's love and goodness. I throw away opportunities of prayer, forgiveness, loving others in kind service, and the list is regrettably long. I am thankful through the Blood of Jesus, God does not keep an account. He calls me home to His heart. With welcomed celebration He embraces me. I am His treasure.
Dear one, I pray that your heart will be stirred in love to Almighty God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I pray that you will be drawn to His wooing, comforted in His healing, strengthened in faith, and victorious in praise. Remember, there is Jesus who brings life and changes old things into new . Jesus is with us always.
